So far we have a plan to create a netowrk of easily accessible and usable machines for those who are not familiar with computers or even starting to read. Our plan is to install a number of machines as clients that will include at minimum, Firefox, OpenOffice, and perhaps the Edubuntu modules.
To implement this, we plan to create a single "replication server" that will serve as a DHCP / PXE boot server. This server will allow through PXE boot, an easy once touch means for re-installing a client machine. The plan is to create a NFS mount point and a kickstart file. This should allow a clean easy way to re-image or re-install any client on the network.
Following the initial setup of the server outside the facility, we will move the server into the facility and organize a install / cabling day for the SMLUG members.
During this install cabling day, we will run network drops of cat 5 wiring to each terminal, and once in place begin multiple PXE boot and installs.
