Currently employed at Stennis Space Center (Jacobs Advanced Systems Group) as a Linux SysAd, working with Bill Maloy.
Worked for 2 years at the National Data Buoy Center as an SAIC contractor. Did a little of everything there, sysad, Iridium phone tech, even drove a forklift while we were recovering from Katrina. Before that I spent 7 months at DISA in Slidell, testing software segments for the Global Command & Control System.
All that after 22 years in the AF, 291x0/491x0/3C0x1.
Been using Linux as mostly a hobby at home since the days when Slackware was king. I do remember having to manually edit frequency and timing parameters in the config files to get X working. These days I use Fedora mostly. I've experimented to varying degrees with Ubuntu, MythTV, Knoppix and a few others here and there.
I'm one of those TiVo fanatics, but don't hold that against me. Also a Mississippi Sea Wolves season-ticket holder, Section M, Row 1, Seat 10, right on the glass behind the visitors goal.
